GPS based train charting system
Expected charting system is a device that can indicate the expected arrival time, depending up on the current position of a train. It collects data from the GPS receiver provided with the device. This device collects data from the GPS receiver and transmitted to control office using SMS and GSM, Compares the data in the Database and displays the expected arrival time on the Display Board at corresponding stations.
The main motto of this system is to automate the work of controllers in making train moments. This application is have three modules 1. Tracking, 2. Plotting and 3. Predictions. Tracking module will tracks the train moments and post data into the Database. Plotting module will prepare the chart as per that data.
Prediction module provides the expected train movements, from that controller can know at which time there will be less train moment in the section and by that controller can allocate timeslots to departments Engineering, Operating, Traction and for some other departments for the maintenance works such as tracks repair, power block and points maintenance etc…. It provides a good user interface to the user so that every one can easily interact with the application. This train charting application will provide various types of reports that are use full to the different departments in railway
A system for Tracking Station-wise Train Arrival-Departures, by considering sequential operations of Tracks, Points and Signals, recorded by Data-loggers, by the way graphical representation (Time v/s Stations) of Actual and predicted train movements.
